Quick Facts About Enugu State?
Enugu state is located in the southeastern part of Nigeria,it’s Nicknamed Coal City State,if you want to add more flavor or steeze to your lingo you can just call it ‘042’!
The name ‘Enugu’ was derived from the two Igbo words ‘Énú Ụ́gwụ́’ which means “hill top” denoting the city’s hilly geography.
There are approximately over 10 million (estimated) people living in Enugu state,this city is home to one of Africa’s biggest tribe called the Igbos.
The Igbo’s are predominantly Christians that speak the Igbo language, if you visit this city there is a high probability that a stranger will speak to you in Igbo, people there automatically assume that your Igbo, this happened to me especially if your light skinned.
Enugu got its nickname ‘coal city’ because of the abundance of coal in the city,natural minerals found in 042 include including coal,iron ore and limestone.
